This work illustrates the connection between the original intuition of the moral order and the critical and systematic reflection made by philosophy, on the basis of the properly metaphysical method, able to pass at any moment “from the phenomenon to the foundation“.

Thus the philosophical ethic recognizes the teleological dynamism of physical phenomena and the free acts of individual persons, and is able to scientifically justify the originally theological character of the moral order.
After having clarified on this basis the epistemological status of philosophical ethics, the manual briefly explains the notions and laws of the moral order as it is perceived by the conscience of each person (natural moral law) and how it is reflected (or should be reflected) in the legal systems of civil society (positive law).
