All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
George Orwell
These words are from Animal farm, one of the best works of George Orwell. This quotation might look odd at first, but, its essence, is extremely clever: the author tells us how equality could turn into its opposite in a society that doesn’t respect the absolute value of Truth and doesn’t consider the dignity of the single person.
The allegorical work of Orwell, in this regard, is a masterpiece that all of us have to read and reread to avoid the danger of building a society where “some people are more equal than others”.
